Brief History of Guild Mors Mortis
Mors Mortis was created way back July 2003, during the beta days, to provide a
guild for friends IRL and in pRO. It had remained relatively silent all
throughout the following months until it made its presence felt during the start
of the WoE by taking the Payon prize agit. The first legion was initially named
=Mors_Mortis_Centuria= with -=tRiNiTy=- as the GM. First Legion and the first
extension Mors Mortis Cen†uria under Jade29(knight), are now disbanded and
replaced by Mors Mortis Hunters™ as the main guild of Mors Mortis.
Branded as a quantity guild early on during the days of the qualifying round of
the RWC due to the sheer numbers Mors deploys during siege time, most fail to
comprehend the circumstances that forced Mors to expand rapidly. If you've ever
been to the Payon prize agit during the RWC siege time you may get a picture of
how Mors considers it as the hottest agit during the RWC qualifiers. Mors Mortis
started out WoE with barely 4 guilds under its name. These were Mors Mortis
Hunters™, Mors Mortis Hunters.,Mors Mortis Devilz, and Mors Mortis Cen†uria.
These 4 guilds were insufficient in defending the Payon agit, as numerous other
guilds vying for the chance to get a slot in the semis saw the strategic
advantage of attacking Payon instead of the other castles in Midgard. For one
there was no need for a warp station to quickly ferry troops near the action,
and most would rather go up against a relatively minor guild rather than go head
to head against the more established guilds guarding the other prize agits.
There was a virtual tide of invaders constantly knocking at the doors. Thus the
creation of support guilds to help defend the agit. Mors Mortis Arcanum was
created when it was realized that wizards casting relentless SG at the entrance
was necessary to stem the tide of invaders. Mors Mortis Defenders was organized
to provide hunters laying traps and picking off those who had gotten past the SG
barrage of MMArcanum. Mors Mortis Knights became essential in retaking the agit
once it passed into an opponents hand.
Numerous other extensions were spawned including MMInfinitum, MMCeleres,
MMExitialis, MMExercitus, MMVivacis. There was even a time that three MMDevilz
existed.
After the RWC qualifiers Mors Mortis underwent a massive re-organization. Many
extensions were forced to disband to streamline the current roster. Loyal
members were retained and absorbed into the current guilds, and the organization
structure was redefined to meet better standards. What the guild is now comes
from this effort.
